Friends of New Music, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing unique opportunities for creative contemporary composers and performers. These initiatives range from the commissioning of new compositions to the providing of rehearsal space and recording facilities to an ongoing concert series in which artists can perform their own music on their own terms. The concert series, currently in its 13th year, is produced in conjunction with InHouse, a 1500 sq. ft. performance space in Tribeca in downtown Manhattan. It showcases some of the greatest musicians in creative improvised music and affords the audience the luxury of hearing those musicians in an intimate environment reminiscent of the “loft jazz” venues of the late 60’s and early 70’s.
